CSSAH Official Excused Absence Procedures
Official Dean's Excuse
At Florida A&M University College of Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities (CSSAH), excused absences are officially authorized through the Office of the Dean. Verifiable proof must be submitted as part of the request.
CSSAH EXCUSED ABSENCE
REQUEST PROCEDURE
In order to request an official excused absence from the Office of the Dean, CSSAH students must:
- Complete the online Official Student Excused Absence Form
- Include verifiable documentation
- Request official excuse within 5 business days after the absence. Excuses requested after the 5-day period may be denied
The Office of the Dean will verify all documents. Allow 72 hours for request to be processed.

FALSIFYING DOCUMENTATION
Providing false documentation will result in the excused absence request and falsified
documentation being sent to the Student Conduct & Conflict Resolution department for
further review.
*PROVIDING FALSE INFORMATION AND/OR FALSIFICATION OF UNIVERSITY RECORDS/EXCUSES MAY
RESULT IN UNIVERSITY SANCTIONS
