Getting You Ready

The academic experience in CSSAH is state-of-art and inventive. The College makes
maximum use of technology and a variety of teaching methods. Students have presented
their research at national academic conferences in history, English/American Literature
and psychology. Students have interned at a variety of educational, social service,
and political organizations and agencies. Students have performed on stage and honed
their talents to the acclaim of critics and local audiences. Promising musicians and
artists have showcased their skills through varied media, compositions and recitals.
Their artistic and professional portfolios are based on years of hard work and critical
assessment and evaluation.
CSSAH coursework comes alive as the educational experience for students within the College emphasizes theory, application, professionalism, and education for the greater good. Upon graduation, students are prepared to pursue professional careers and/or continue their education at the graduate level in professional studies.
CSSAH Connect is a central hub for CSSAH students to access important information on subjects such as academic advisement, registration and graduation.
We are also home to the internationally acclaimed Marching 100 band, celebrated as one of the many proud traditions of FAMU. Recognized for its dynamic sound and precision in technique and performance, the Marching 100 attracts the most talented student musicans from across the world. The band has performed internationally and has dazzled during presidential inaugurations, the Rose Bowl, Grammy Awards and several Super Bowl performances with entertainment icons such as the legendary Prince.

In 2018, FAMU became the first HBCU to participate in the International Collegiate Theatre Festival Fringe in Edinburgh, Scotland. The FAMU Essential Theatre production of "From the Mississippi Delta" by Endesha Ida Mae Holland, Ph.D. was met with critical international acclaim.
