About the Foster-Tanner Fine Arts Gallery

The Foster-Tanner Fine Arts Gallery is recognized as one of the top HBCU art galleries and/or museums. We feature year-round exhibitions that primarily feature works of art by Black artists and visual culture of the African diaspora.

We were founded as a teaching gallery.
We were founded as a teaching gallery. This means our primary purpose is to serve visual art students as well as those pursuing arts and humanities fields. With our courses in Museum Studies, the gallery also serves as a site for learning about art museums and associated professions.

Spring 2026 Graduating Senior Art Exhibition

Poster for "The Spring Graduating Senior Art Exhibition" CURRENT EXHIBITION: On view April 2 - May 1, 2026. The Spring Graduating Senior Art Exhibition is an annual presentation of FAMU's senior art students' capstone art series at the Foster-Tanner Fine Arts Gallery.  This semester, we will present seniors Ben Joseph (Orlando, FL), Michelle Martos (Miami, FL), Jeneé White (Boston, MA), and Darell Williams (Tallahassee, FL).

Our art exhibitions are carefully selected to feature relevant subject-matter and media reflecting our campus constituents and stakeholders, while attracting unique audiences to enrich and build bridges throughout our community.

 


NEW | Rattlers Bridge Art Workshops

We are excited to present the Rattlers Bridge Project, a series of art-based workshops illuminating the arts and culture of our shared community.

The Rattler's Bridge project aims to foster meaningful engagement between community members and the rich arts and cultural history of Florida A&M University (FAMU) and the surrounding Southside area.

The Rattlers Bridge workshops are free and open to the public.  Registration is required to participate.
