The Foster-Tanner Fine Arts Gallery is recognized as one of the top HBCU art galleries and/or museums in the country. We feature year-round exhibitions that primarily feature works of art by Black artists and visual culture of the African diaspora.
Our art exhibitions are carefully selected to feature relevant subject-matter and media reflecting our campus constituents and stakeholders, while attracting diverse audiences to enrich and build bridges through
out our community.
We were founded as a teaching gallery. This means our primary purpose is to serve visual art students as well as those pursuing arts and humanities fields. With our courses in Museum Studies, the gallery also serves as a site for learning about art museums and associated professions.
The Foster-Tanner Fine Arts Gallery features art exhibitions and public programs throughout the academic year. Learn more about those public events and more! Check out our exciting public programs, internship opportunities, and juried exhibitions.
UPCOMING EXHIBITION: Elevation from Within: A Study of Art Within Historically Black Colleges and Univeristies
