RATTLERS BRIDGE WORKSHOPS

We are excited to present the Rattlers Bridge Project, a series of art-based workshops led by artists Kenneth Reshard, Candii Allen, Kabuya Bowens- Saffo, and Kaiyla Thompson, illuminating the arts and culture of our shared community. The Rattler's Bridge project aims to foster meaningful engagement between community members and the rich arts and cultural history of Florida A&M University (FAMU) and the surrounding Southside area.

The Florida A&M University Foster-Tanner Fine Arts Gallery is offering four monthly (January 31, February 28, March 28, and April 11) figure drawing classes to the general public. Classes are held on Saturdays from 11 am – 2 pm.  Participants must be at least 18 years old and will learn basic drawing techniques in graphite on paper, led by an experienced student artist. Classes will be held in the Foster-Tanner Fine Arts Gallery.

Participants will need to purchase their own art supplies. A recommended supplies list is available on the event’s site. (*Our recommended supply list is based on the quality and price of the products, but participants are free to purchase alternative brands and sizes of the pencil sets and pads.)  Drawing classes are $25 per class.  Registration is required to participate. Space is limited.

Some participants will get to enjoy the “Figurative Narrative” exhibition, featuring the work of Nan Liu, Eluster Richardson, and Jeff Whipple, that is currently on view at the gallery until March 13.
