Academic advising is essential to the success of students
Upon entering our program, students are encouraged to arrange a meeting with Harris Wiltsher, Area Facilitator and Associate Professor.

Students will be assigned a mentor among our faculty to assist and guide them through the program and answer any questions.

Advisors ensure you stay on track for a timely graduation by connecting you with the right resources and support throughout your academic journey.

To ensure a timely graduation and to develop a relationship with your adviser, you are encouraged to:

✔️ Meet with Your Advisor: Meet with your advisor once per semester to review your Advisory Form and ensure you’re on track.

✔️ Check iRattler: Regularly check your Academic Advisement Module on iRattler to stay updated on your academic progress.

✔️ Stay Informed: Be aware of university and college policies and procedures by reading the Student Handbook.

✔️ Seek Help: Always seek the assistance of an advisor if you are experiencing personal or academic difficulties.

✔️ Check Your Email: Routinely check your FAMU e-mail account for important messages from the university, your program and your advisor.

Students are strongly encouraged to regularly consult with their academic advisors at least once per semester. Our students are required to meet with their assigned program advisor, Ms. Karen Parker, on a regular basis, at least once a semester.
